A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Welcome to Petaluma Adult School, a proud member of the Sonoma County Adult Education Consortium. Our consortium helps adults learn basic academic and work readiness skills needed to become employed and increase their career opportunities. Through our network of participating school districts, the community college, the county office of education, and human services organizations, we connect adults in Sonoma County to educational programs that meet employer needs, enabling our students and our region to grow and thrive.
For nearly 100 years PAS has provided programs and services to meet the needs of adults in our community. Our mission is to provide high quality instruction to our diverse community of adult learners to achieve family, workforce and personal goals. PAS teachers, support staff, and administrative team work together to ensure that students gain reading, writing, math and technology skills to become college and career ready.
To support our students in meeting their academic goals, we offer the following programs: High School Diploma, GED and HiSET test preparation, English as a Second Language, and preparation for U.S. Citizenship.
In partnership with CalRegional, we offer Clinical Medical Assistant, Pharmacy Technician and Phlebotomy Technician evening and weekend training programs that lead to licensure and employment. Our computer skills training includes introductory and refresher courses in Keyboarding, Excel, Word for PCs and iPad and Mac O.S. Basics. For both native English speakers and English learners, the fall schedule now includes Career Planning Skills workshops where effective resume writing and interview skills are practiced.
Our fun, enriching community education program include many favorites such as Woodworking, Beginning Watercolor, Yoga, Qigong, Tai Chi, Conversational German, Petaluma Community Band, Birding and Guitar. New classes include Photo Editing and Digital Photo Basics, Podcasting for Non-Techies, Beginning Flute and Beginning Saxophone!
Class sizes are small! Plus our faculty and staff are committed to providing you with exceptional educational programs designed to meet the unique needs of adult learners in our community.
Thank you for reviewing this fall brochure. Hope you can join us!
