Program Information

Prerequisites: 18 years of age and a high school diploma or equivalent.

rogram fee:  $2,995 (This fee includes CPR certification training for the Healthcare Provider, liability insurance, externship, national exam and certificate.)
Sold separately: Textbooks, scrubs, and the Medical Kit for the Medical Assistant program.


Phlebotomy Technician

As a Phlebotomy Technician you will be trained to draw blood samples from patients in a clinical laboratory or public health setting. Over the course of the program, students will receive on-the-job training that includes drawing blood samples from patients, producing quality laboratory results, gaining the trust and confidence of patients and much more. The program includes 70 hours of classroom instruction and a 40-hour clinical phlebotomy externship. The program will prepare students to take the Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) exam through the National Healthcare Association (NHA).

Schedule 1:  January 27 – March 31, 2018, Saturdays, 8:30am-5:00pm

Schedule 2:  February 12 – March 14, 2018, Monday through Thursday, 5:30-9:30pm

Schedule 3:  April 9 – May 8, 2018, Monday through Thursday, 5:30-9:30pm

Schedule 4:  April 14 June 9, 2018, Saturdays, 8:30am-5:00pm

Clinical Medical Assistant

In this program you will learn medical terminology, front and back office procedures, standard patient processing, medical billing and customer service. Students will be trained to help physicians care for patients, take vital signs, perform basic lab tests and administer medications in a doctor’s office or clinic. The program includes 160 hours of classroom instruction and a 160-hour medical office externship. The program will prepare you to take a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) exam through the National Healthcare Association (NHA).

Schedule 2:  February 26 – May 3, 2018, Monday/Wednesday/Friday, 5:30-9:30pm

Schedule 3:  April 23 – July 2, 2018, Monday through Thursday, 10:30am-2:30pm

Pharmacy Technician

As a Pharmacy Technician you will help the pharmacist prepare and mix prescriptions, maintain patient records, refer patients to the pharmacist for counseling, and assist with inventory control, payment, collection, purchasing and billing. This program includes 182 hours of classroom instruction and a 120-hour clinical pharmacy externship. Upon successful completion of the program, students may apply directly to the California Board of Pharmacy for the Pharmacy Technician License.
