Test prep - hiset/ged (HIGH SCHOOL EQUIVALENCY)

what is a HIGH SCHOOL EQUIVALENCY CERTIFICATE?

The High School Equivalency Certificate is earned when a student passes all sections of the HISET or GED exams. This certificate is equivalent to a hgigh school diploma and is accepted anywhere that requires a diploma -Community College, Job Applications, etc.

If you are thinking of enlisting in the military, please speak with your recruiter prior to choosing this pathway.

WHO MIGHT PURSUE a HIGH SCHOOL EQUIVALENCY CERTIFICATE?

Students who do not have transcripts from their previous school(s) or who need more than 50 credits are often interested in pursuing test preparation classes for the HiSET or GED High School Equivalency.

The High School Equivalency program provides students with test preparation to successfully pass the HiSET or GED tests. Classes provide an interactive, self-paced learning environment in an instructional setting with highly trained and caring teachers. You will practice content items from the GED and HiSET Exams, learn test-taking strategies to ensure your success, and experience realistic testing conditions. Students receive instruction with individually designed lessons that continually move students forward in their quest to obtain the certificate that is equivalent to a high school diploma.

At the Petaluma Campus, Students can choose to take the High School Equivalency in either Spanish or English.

Upon completion of HiSET / GED, students are invited to participate in Petaluma Adult School's graduation ceremony (January and June).
